Patrick Christopher won’t relinquish player of the week

Last week, the California Golden Bears had a second player awarded with the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the season.
It looks like he’s refusing to give it up.
Patrick Christopher was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after his clutch performances over the weekend against both Pac-10 Washington schools.
Christopher had another fine week as he averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 53.3 percent from three-point range.
For the season, both he and Jerome Randle have been honored by the Pac-10 for their play on the season. Thanks in large part to the two of them, the Golden Bears have gotten off to their best start since Pete Newell was the coach in 1959-’60.
This week, they’ll have plenty of time to recuperate from their road trip to the Pacific Northwest, as they prepare for their bitter rival, Stanford. It will be head coach Mike Montgomery’s first visit back to Maples Pavilion as an enemy to the school. Montgomery guided the Stanford basketball program to one of dominance for 18 years prior to leaving to take a job with the Golden State Warriors.
